Ghanaian farmers get better prices for their crops by using mobile phones

Farmers in the in the Eastern Corridor of the Northern Region, in Ghana are able to get better prices for their crops then they used to by using text messages on their phone. The text tells the farmers exactly what their crops are worth at a certain time so they are more aware of the price when they sell it through middlemen. This video features several farmers who use the texting system in the ECAMIC project. This project is supported by the SEND Foundation and the International Institute for Communication and Development.
