The Jèkafo Gèlèkan Project Making Communication between Local Farmers’ Commitees easier
The Jèkafo Gèlèkan project, implemented by CRCR, uses computers, the internet and community radio to improve communication to and from the local farmers’ committees in the region of Sikasso, the southern-most region of Mali. The project facilitated access to new laws and market opportunities and improved communication and knowledge sharing between CRCR's members (seven local committees representing 215 farmer organisations). The project formed the foundational experience for CRCR's further ICT integration, which has subsequently served as a model to national and regional organisations representing farmers' interests.
