Ma Santé: Saving Lives of Mothers and Children

This article formed part of the Proceedings of 4th International Conference on M4D Mobile Communication for Development (2014) and describes the work of the Ma Santé project in Mali, co-piloted with Muso Ladamunen. The project supports community health workers to use mobile phones with an app called MAMMA to collect data on malaria indicators among (pregnant) women and children during regular house calls. That data is sent by SMS to a nearby health facility, where doctors can immediately see who needs treatment in a hospital.
